About us

We are a husband and wife team from New Brunswick, Canada, sharing our passion for nature, wood, quality workmanship, sustainability, land stewardship and supporting local businesses. Whether it's developing our permaculture homestead or working on various projects in the woodshop, we thrive on the synergy of our partnership. Our skills and personalities compliment each other, making us a great team both in and out of the shop.

Professionally, Derek was a CAD/CAM programmer/machinist and quality control manager in Canada's manufacturing capital before relocating to New Brunswick in 2009. After several years away from the woodworking industry he returned to the craft he has embraced throughout his life. Derek takes great satisfaction in creating beautiful and durable pieces with his own two hands. Now at the helm of our production department, he oversees all precision designs and machining processes, blending his technical expertise with his love for craftsmanship. He focuses on quality control and efficiencies throughout our manufacturing processes.

Terri, a retired CPA, has embraced her artistic passion since stepping away from the corporate world in 2015. Initially, her creativity was expressed through traditional mediums like canvas and paint, but her artistic journey has since evolved. Exploring the realms of digital design and wood finishing, she has found a new calling. Now, Terri specializes in creating intricate 2D and 3D designs for laser cutting and engraving, as well as CNC routing, used to enhance the products crafted by Derek. This change from a numbers-focused career to an artistic life has given her the satisfaction she desires.

At our rural property, we take great pride in our commitment to sustainable forestry practices. When we harvest wood from our property we ensure that each tree is chosen with care to minimize impact on the surrounding ecosystem. With over 300 acres of forest and our own sawmill, we have the unique ability to manage our resources responsibly. Clear cutting is strictly against our values; instead, we focus on practices that support biodiversity and the long-term health of our land. When we can't use wood from our own land for woodworking projects we source domestic woods that have been responsibly harvested and sourced in Canada, and we purchase it from Canadian suppliers.

At Wycked Creations, our passion for working with wood ignited the creation of our brand. We sought a creative outlet and wanted to combine it with our ability to offer manufacturing services as the need for domestic production returns to Canada. Unlike the countless stores and online retailers offering identical products, we pride ourselves on creating unique designs that stand out. We believe in quality over quantity, refusing to compromise by sourcing low-quality, mass-produced imports where environmental practices are highly questionable. Each piece we build reflects our commitment to our craft, ensuring that our products are not only aesthetically pleasing but also built to last. At Wycked Creations, we create the kind of items we would choose to buy—products that are a testament to quality, durability, and responsibility.
